Changes in Crong Alpha 0.0.3

Gameplay

  • The AI was reworked:
    • The AI no longer speeds up the more points you get.
    • The AI now predicts where the ball will go instead of blindly following it, making it much harder.
  • Implemented difficulty levels
    • Easy makes the AI ignore bounces and only expect ball's path based on its trajectory.
    • Medium makes the AI see one bounce ahead and position itself ahead of time.
    • Hard makes the AI see two bounces ahead and position itself ahead of time.
  • Slightly changed the bounce physics

Graphics

  • The player is now colored green, and the opponent is colored red.
  • Added bounce particles that trigger each time a bounce happens.
  • Added victory particles that trigger when one of the players scores a point.
    • They change their color depending on the player's color.

Tweaks

  • Bounces have randomized pitch now.
  • Upon starting the game, there's a brief text showing the controls.
  • The pause screen is now bigger on mobile like the rest of the UI, which was omitted from 0.0.2.
  • Changed "Aberr." in settings to "Aberration" because there's now more space to do so due to a vertical menu.
  • Enabled sensor rotation for mobile so that you can play horizontally upside down on mobile.

Bugfixes

  • The collision system has been reworked to use collision normals.
    This fixes the issue of the ball getting stuck under a paddle or speeding up infinitely in various situations.
  • The chromatic aberration is no longer off on the menu screen, unless you disable it yourself.
  • Fixed the game freezing upon changing any of the settings (or opening the settings), now it freezes only when changing vsync and fullscreen due to having to change the properties of the window.
